Only a few days are left for the elections and the proclamations and goals of the parties on critical financial policy matters do not only remain vague, but the confusion is constantly increasing. Particularly in the case of SYRIZA, the party that is ahead in the polls, there is real confusion due to the conflicting statements of its members, with the people not having a clear idea of what to expect.

Whether it is about the ENFIA, tax rates, the liquidity in the economy and the loan installments owed to us by our creditors, there is a conflicting impression that neither serves the party, nor the general climate in the economy.

For better of for worse, the serious possibility of a left-wing party rising to power is making a section of public opinion and our European partners question how it will manage a series of critical financial problems.

And this Babel of promises and policies that is documents will unavoidably raise even more queries and questions.

It is in the country – and main opposition’s – interest to put an end to the conflicting statements, to clear up the scene and give straight answers on the critical matters that concern the people.

As t has been proven time and again in the past and especially in this period of crisis, the easy and irresponsible election campaign promises never benefited anyone; on the contrary they stressed how unreliable the political system is. A left-wing party that is claiming power and is declaring its intention to change the state of affairs, cannot use methods from bygone eras to attract voters.

It ought to know that it will come to face this practice soon enough, with painful consequences for everyone, as demonstrated by recent and older history.
