The Minister of Public Order Nikos Dendias and the head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) chapter in Greece Daniel Esdra have signed an agreement according to which the IOM will handle the voluntary returns of migrants to their country of origin.

According to the agreement the IOM will inform migrants on their options regarding voluntary return to their country of origin, preparation for return, overseeing the trip of migrants to their country of origin and arranging for their reception and integration into their local community.

The deal is budgeted at 13 million euros and is funded by European Commission’s Return Fund by 75% and the Greek State by 25%.
