The 69-year-old man who contracted the lethal MERS coronavirus after returning to Greece from a trip to Saudi Arabia appears to be stabilizing and overcoming the illness.
While the patient is still kept in an intubated in an intensive care unit at the “Sotiria” hospital, his health appears to have stabilized and his pulmonary system is improving.
The MERS coronovirus is related to the SARS virus and can cause lethal pneumonia.
