The General Secretariat of Public Revenue announced today that will have completed all the necessary data of those entitled tot the heating oil benefit by net week, in order to credit their accounts with the fifth installment by mid March.
So far the government has paid out 117 million euros in heating oil benefits, of a 180 million euros total available. This means that about 35% remains to be paid out.
After last year’s fiasco, where few beneficiaries applied and collected the benefit, the government decided to lax its criteria so that about 580,000 taxpayers would qualify for the benefit this year.
