The refugee crisis coordinating body has announced that there are over 53,000 migrants and refugees in Greece at present.

In greater detail, it was announced that there are 6,384 on the islands, while there are 14,797 in Attica (4,720 in Piraeus). In Evia, Fthiotida and Larissa there are 2,566 and a further 340 in southern Greece. In the north of Greece there are 28,955, with 11,269 remaining at Idomeni and a further 1,264 at Polykastro.

Meanwhile a group of migrants and refugees continue occupying a section of the Thessaloniki-Evzones national highway for a fifth consecutive day, demanding that they be allowed to cross the borders.

The occupation of the railway line at Idomeni is also carrying on for the 19th consecutive day. They have stated their determination in continuing their protest until the borders reopen.
