The Alternate Minister of Education Sia Anagnostopoulou argued that “we must not use the refugees to resist Europe. They are extremely weary to assume that burden, especially when we see the policy in Europe”.

Mrs. Anagnostopoulou further told Vima 99.5 FM that while she understands why NGOs and individuals want to pressure Europe to reopen its borders, she underlined that it was not acceptable to use the plight of the refugees towards this goal.

Regarding the ongoing negotiations over the bailout review and measures that are expected to be taken, the Alternate Minister repeated the government policy that low and middle pensions of up to 1,500 euros will not be affected. She added that the government is not considering any measures on top of what has already been agreed.
