Today To Vima is giving two of its readers the reigns of today’s main article. They propose immediate humorous solution to three current problems, even though they are no laughing matter. These are their proposals for MPs, ministers and vultures of public funds.
Regarding MPs: It is compulsory for the children of all MPs from all parties to study in public schools that operate within their parent MP’s constituency. The social gains from such a provision would obviously be incredible.
Regarding ministers and public health: All ministers and senior government officers must receive medical treatment public hospitals and from NHS doctors, without the right to chose. They will undergo tests, treatment, operations etc from whoever doctor is on shift, just like ordinary citizens.
The third proposal brings up a controversial issue. Must the State insist upon the return of public funds that have been used for the controversial bribes?
According to one reader’s letter, the provision of absolve criminal liability from those willing to return the funds they stole from the people is cynical, but debatable. Public opinion tends to be in favor of “bringing back the stolen goods”. It is probably immoral for the State to compromise with these circumstances.
However, based on relevant estimations, the public funds that could be returned is actually more than what the government is trying to save, so it would have more than enough to give “something” to pensioners, uniformed officers and judges – just like the Prime Minister promised.
Even the Gods give in when confronted with need!
