After meeting with the quartet in Athens on Saturday, the Minister of Labor Giorgos Katrougalos told journalists that the extent of cuts in supplementary pensions remains a thorn in reaching an agreement on the critical pension system reform.

Mr. Katrougalos reported that they issue remains unresolved because the European institutions and IMF “want greater cuts that what we are prepared to offer”. Furthermore, he stated that an agreement on replacement rates has been reached.

The Labor Minister also noted that the negotiations will continue on Sunday.
