The police announced that two Bulgarian nationals – a 45-year-old man and 43-year-old woman – have been arrested over the murder of a 41-year-old Bulgarian man, whose body was found in pieces in Aspropyrgos.

According to the police statement, the victim’s body was discovered in bags, at a recycling plan in Aspropyrgos, on the 10th of February. As it transpires, the victim was murdered a day before over financial differences with the 45-year-old man.

The victim was brutally murdered as he returned home, where he lived with the 43-year-old woman. After murdering him, the 45-year-old cut the body up in pieces and disposed of it in nearby garbage cans.

After the murder, the two culprits cleaned up the house, painted over the walls and disposed of the furniture in order to hide any evidence of the murder.

The victim’s identity had been a mystery up until two day ago, when the police published a picture. A citizen identified the man and informed the police, leading to the arrests.
