The leader of The River Stavros Theodorakis announced that his party will support any agreement that the government submits in Parliament “without bargaining, because the country needs oxygen”. Mr. Theodorakis told SKAI on Thursday that while he will support the government on this mater, he claimed “there is no excuse for what they are doing in healthcare and education”.

Mr. Theodorakis warned that the economy was on the brink and the procrastination and idleness will have a huge cost on society, as the measures will becoming increasingly harsher, as the economy plunges. He also expressed his fear that the delay was intentional, in order to pressure MPs to vote for an agreement without knowing what it is.

According to the opposition party leader, the agreement with the creditors would be difficult irrespective of which party was in power, but speculated that a better agreement would have been reached in March, when there was more available. He criticized Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras though for failing to capitalize on the friendly climate towards Greece that prevailed in Europe soon after the January’s snap elections.
