It has been announced that the primary surplus was estimated to be 2.4 billion euros in the ten-month period between January and October 2014. This result is slightly off-target, with the 10-month goal having been set at 2.44 billion euros.
This development has been attributed to the fact that the net revenue from the regular budget was just 37.55 billion euros, which is about 3% less than the goal.
