NATO’s Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen is currently in Athens for an informal conference of European Ministers of Defense and is currently visiting Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
Rasmussen condemned the violence ravaging the Ukraine and stressed that the government must ensure that the Army is not involved in the crisis and insisted that “dialog is the only solution”.
On the first day of the conference, the Defense Ministers will focus their discussions on the latest dramatic developments in the Ukraine, as well as planning for the operation in the Central African Republic.
The EU’s peacekeeping operations will be addressed on the second day of the conference. After the conference concludes, the Ministers will give a press conference and announce their results.
