The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras appeared at New Democracy’s Parliamentary Group meeting, where he announced that the primary surplus will return to the Greek people and took the opportunity to attack the opposition.
Mr. Samaras explained that “the primary surplus came about a year earlier. We were ridiculed when we spoke of it in early 2013, we were ridiculed when we said it would approximate 500 million euros in October. Now that it is over 1 billion euros, nobody is ridiculing us”.
The Prime Minister announced that “the primary surplus is clean, viable and undeniable” and that 70% of it would gradually be reinvested in the people by 2016, with uniformed officers and pensioners being the top priorities. Mr. Samaras explained that after restoring injustices, the next step is to reduce tax rates.
Regarding the opposition, the PM referred to SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras position on the economy and Argentina and accused him of repeatedly changing his opinion.
