A 30-year-old man who claimed to have a hand grenade in his pocket and threatening to blow himself up in front of the White Tower of Thessaloniki has been arrested by the police.
Police negotiators were called out to the White Tower and after a few hours managed to apprehend the 30-year-old man. It has not yet been announced if the 30-year-old man did in fact have a grenade on him.
It has not yet been revealed what has prompted the 30-year-old man to make these threats. Traffic in the area surrounding the White Tower has been restored.
