The body of a 59-year-old farmer, from the village of Neochoraki, Magnisia, was located on Monday morning. The man had been reported missing since Saturday afternoon, at which point the weather in the area took a turn for the worse.
Local authorities launched a search and rescue operation as soon as family members filed their report. The man’s car was discovered wedged between rocks near a spring, while his torn shirt was located nearby.
It appears that the 59-year-old farmer attempted to cross a stream that had swollen from the heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, in order to reach his paddock.
