The unilateral decision of Serbian and FYROM authorities to not allow Afghans passage through their territories has resulted in thousands of refugees effectively stranded in Greece.

About 5,000 refugees are currently on the border with FYROM, with the Doctors Without Borders’ Antonis Rigas telling the Praktorio 104.9 FM radio station that although the move was expected, no warning was given as to when this would occur.

Furthermor a total of 4,427 refugees who arrived in Piraeus from Lesvos and Chios on Monday morning have nowhere to go, since there are no provisions to transfer them via bus to Idomeni or elsewhere.
