The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Panagiotis Sgouridis has offered to step down from his post, in relation to a radio interview where he noted that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras deceived the farmers.

In the interview for Maximum 93.6 Mr. Sgouridis stated that “unless you make promises, nobody will for you”, to which the journalist asked him if the Prime Minister deceived the farmers.

Mr. Sgouridis responded “just like his predecessor. Zappeio 1, Zappeio 2, Zappeio 3. Just like with [Giorgos Papandreou’s statement] there is money…”. The journalist further questioned Mr. Sgouridis “so Tsipras deceived them, just like Samaras?” with the Deputy Minister responding “Just like Papandreou before him”.

The Deputy Minister further argued that “at some point, because the country is on the brink and I am currently in a ministry that only speaks about entrepreneurship, we must kick start entrepreneurship once again”.
