The leader of DIMAR Fotis Kouvelis appeared on SKAI TV’s morning chat show and stressed that the plan to distribute the primary surplus must go ahead in order to support social groups that have suffered from the crisis.
Mr. Kouvelis claimed that the much-touted primary surplus “was created from barbaric policies” and accused the troika of pursuing “the collapse of work relations and rights”.
Nevertheless, Mr. Kouvelis disagreed with SYRIZA’s intention to erase Greek debt and underlined the importance of the country fulfilling its international obligations. The DIMAR leader added that he is favor of a systematic negotiation and claimed that “a growth explosion” was need.
Regarding the upcoming local government elections, Mr. Kouvelis revealed that his party is in negotiations and will made the relevant announcements over “the next few days”, without revealing any candidate names. The party’s executive committee is meeting today to discuss its candidacies.
