Imagine Mr. Tsipras as Prime Minister! What do you think?
The ambiguous results of the latest political polls encourage the various scenarios about political developments.
Many believe that Antonis Samaras will remain in power, while a growing number of people believe that Mr. Tsipras will be the new tenant at “Maximos Hall”.
There are many different possible outcomes, which could potentially cover all possibilities. It is indicative that Mr. Tsipras is believed to be considering the possibility of an alliance with New Democracy, under certain circumstances, in order to form a government, should he not gain the necessary votes in the elections.
It seems unlikely, but the fact that, barring a few exceptions, the political leaders are discussing post-election alliances that could cause great strife. Groups of MPs can move to the left or the right. We might even have a “great alliance”.
If Mr. Tsipras becomes Prime Minister, as we have suggested, what politics will he follow?
He will have to deal with his inter-party opposition, which disputes Greece’s position in Europe and anticipates an abolition of the euro and a turn to other, shadier international orientation. The SYRIZA leader believes hat he can fully control his party. Senior party members however claim that the anti-Europe faction within SYRIZA can be isolated.
Mr. Tsipras’ associates claim that there are no initiatives the SYRIZA leader would not take and that he will be a good Prime Minister.
Mr. Samaras claims that the great democratic faction will win the elections. What does he mean?
