In a letter addressed to the President of Parliament, MP Harris Theoharis announced that he is no longer a member of the Parliamentary Group of the River.
Mr. Theoharis cited the lack of strategic direction and repeating the same mistakes of attempting to align with PASOK and New Democracy. “We appeared willing to cooperate with the government, without any conditions” he underlined and stressed that “the country and history will not forgive us for betraying the need for something new”.
Later on the River issued a scathing response, alleging that Mr. Theoharis had previously suggested cooperating with SYRIZA, PASOK and New Democracy. Furthermore, the River also suggested that Mr. Theoharis left the party after failing to claim party leadership and that he is preparing to start a new political movement.
