We support the efforts to find a path that will allow Greece to implement the necessary reforms and return to growth, in a strong, stable and developing Eurozone” noted US President Barack Obama on Monday, after the end of the G7 summit meeting that was held in Germany.

The American President commented that there was a sense of urgency for Greece and that Athens must be serious about the reforms it will have to push forward and implement, in order to reach an agreement. He added that Greeks will have to take some “tough political decisions”.

Similarly, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel clarified that she wants Greece to remain a part of the Eurozone, but called Greece to agree to and take measures that will support its economy.

Although time is running out, French President Francois Hollande estimated that an agreement was possible before the end of June, or even sooner. Crucially though, Mr. Hollande commented that the ECB, IMF and European Commission may also submit alternative proposals to Athens.
