The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras commented on the recent developments with Golden Dawn and sent a message of unity from New York City, where he is on an official visit. Mr. Samaras explained that “as Prime Minister I am interested in unity. You do not have the right to hate another, to believe in violence, to be a racist, to promote extremism. Because then you will find all the Greek people against you, just like it happened in the past days at home”.

Mr. Samaras attended the St. Nicholas Church service officiated by Archbishop Demetrius in Flushing, NY and then met with members of the Greek community. The PM sent a message of hope, stressing that while Greece is going through some hard times, the country will recover and is close to finally exiting the crisis. The Prime Minister noted that “nobody speaks of the Grexit anymore” and that “Greece will be an example for the whole of Europe”.
