TAIPED’s board of directors convened on Wednesday in order to discuss and approve of the privatization of regional ports, airports and other assets.

Privatization of regional airports

The board approved of the procedure and terms of use, operation and management of regional airports, which are split into two groups. The first group includes the airports of Thessaloniki, Kerkyra (Corfu), Chania, Kefalonia, Zakynthos (Zante), Aktion, Kavala and (optionally) a choice of up to three airports from Alexandroupoli, Araxos, Kalamata and Nea Anchialos.

The second group includes the airports of Rhodes, Kos, Samos, Mytilene, Myconos, Santorini and Skiathos with the option of up to three more airports in Limnos, Chios, Karpathos and Nea Anchialos.

Privatization of tourist ports

The board also approved of the procedure for privatization and the terms of use, operation and management of the first group of tourist ports, which include the marina in Alimos, the tourist port in Nea Epidavros, part of port in Hydra and part of the port and tourist shelter in Poros.

Auctioning of overseas properties

The board also proceeded with the sale of overseas property. Of the 11 offers publicized one was turned down due to not complying with the auction procedures. Specifically there were four offers for property in London, four offers for the property in Nicosia, two offers for the property in Belgrade and one offer for the property in Brussels. There were no offers for property in Tuscany and Ljubljana. The offers will be examined and winners will later be announced.
