The Minister of Economy Giorgos Stathakis has argued that the government will protect the main pensions, in response to IMF demands for budget cuts worth 9 billion euros.

In an interview on SKAI, Mr. Stathakis revealed that there was an “essential consensus” on the Greek government proposal to raise insurance contributions, while underlining that the negotiations with the creditors continue.

Regarding the farmer protests and demands, the Minister of Economy claimed that there is still “room for negotiations” and reiterated the Prime Minister’s call for them to enter talks.
