All ships will remain docked due to the 48-hour seamen strike, in response to the government’s controversial plans for the pension system reform. Additionally, active and retired seamen will demonstrate in the port of Piraeus at 11am on Thursday and will then head to the Ministry of Shipping.

The 14 seamen unions which called the strike have called for a number of controversial provisions affecting their sector to be removed from the pension system reform. Aside from the seamen, the employees at seamen pension fund NAT are also on a three-day strike, which began on Tuesday.
