After convening for seven hours on Thursday, the Appeal Council rejected the extradition request filed by Italian authorities for two the five students. Decisions on two are expected on Friday and the fifth student on Monday.

According to the European arrest warrant issued by Italian authorities, the five students in question are accused of causing damages and aggravated resistance during the demonstrations against the Expo 2016 in Milan. The charges against the students entail prison sentences of 8 to 15 years.
