The Minister of Finances Euclid Tsakalotos and the Minister of Labor Giorgos Katrougalos have arranged a series of meeting with European colleagues and officials ahead of the bailout program review and initiation of talks on the country’s public debt.

Reports suggest that Mr. Tsakalotos and his associates will be meeting with his German counterpart Wolfgang Schäuble – possibly in Berlin – within the next few days. Plans will soon be finalized however, as the Greek government wants to push forward with the procedures for the next 5.7-billion-euro tranche.

At a meeting in SYRIZA’s office on Monday, the Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras underlined the importance of international contacts and cultivating progressive alliances. Mr. Tsipras aims to meet with IMF director Christine Lagarde at Davos later in January.
