Alexis Tsipras is scheduled to visit the Russian capital of Moscow next week, were he has arranged a series of meetings with high-ranking Russian government officials.
The SYRIZA is to meet with the Chief of Staff and former Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov as well as the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko. The meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov has been canceled due to the ongoing developments in Ukraine.
Mr. Tsipras’ visit to Russia, came a day after his trip to Berlin over the weekend where he attended the election conference of the Die Linke party.
