The police have estimated that about 7,000 refugees are waiting to cross over from Greece into FYROM, after the border crossing into the neutral zone recently reopened.
At present about 2,500 refugees are accommodated in the camp near the border, while 90 bus-loads have dropped off a further 4,500 people at the gas station at Polykastro.
In the past 24 hours only about 1,600 refugees have managed to cross over into FYROM after many delays – previously up to 4,000 refugees would make it through in the same amount of time.
