The farmers have given the government a five-day deadline to establish an intergroup committee that will withdraw the controversial bills on pension system and taxation reform, so that talks may begin. The farmers are reportedly also finalizing their proposals.

Meanwhile, the farmers have diced to cut off access at Tempi for 12 hours on Tueday, from 10am to 10pm, after debating their strike actions on Monday. Access at other road blocks – such as at Kastro, Atalanti, Amfiklia, Domokos and elsewhere – will also be cut off throughout the day. The farmers at the customs office at Kipi will only block trucks from going through.

The farmers at the Nikea block have called for a nationwide meeting at noon on Sunday in order to determine their future actions, while farmers in the north of Greece are prepared to carry on with the road blocks and plan a rally in Thessaloniki.
