The Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and the Minister of Culture Kostas Tasoulas have visited Ancient Amphipolis, where an archeological dig is currently under way.
The archeological team handling the excavation believes that an important tomb may be present, which has excited the archeological community. Some have suggested that the tomb may be linked to Alexander the Great.
Recent findings in the area include a burial perimeter measuring about 500 meters in length and 3 meters in height, which is unprecedented. The structure has been dated back to the last quarter of the 4th century BC.
