The Hellenic Center of Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) issued an announcement stressing that there is a very low risk of an Ebola outbreak in Greece.
KEELPNO has been monitoring the progress of the Ebola outbreak that has plagued Western parts of Africa since February and has taken out the necessary precautions, while informing travelers of the risks involved. KEELPNO is receiving support from the University of Thessaloniki’s Hemorrhagic Fever and Arboviruses Laboratory.
The latest outbreak of the lethal virus has claimed over 700 lives in Western Africa, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, according to the World Health Organization.
