The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has revealed that the general government’s balance has documented a 2.8 billion euro surplus in the third trimester of 2013, not including the effect of the 4 billion euros from the bank support funds. If including these funds, the balance is estimated at 1.16 billion euros. The primary balance surplus was estimated at 631 million euros.

Additionally, ELSTAT revealed that revenue in the first trimester of 2013 was 23.8 billion euros, of which 5.1 billion euros related to income taxes. The general government’s expenses in the same period were 24.9 billion euros, of which 5.29 billion related to dependent employment.

Along with the general government’s non-financial accounts, ELSTAT also announce the divs of the General Government’s debt at the end of the third trimester of 2013, which was estimated to be 317.3 billion euros.
