The EOPYY doctors have began a series of 24-hour strikes that will go on at least until Wednesday, in response to the suspension measure that is being implemented. The EOPYY clinics will operate with security staff.

Furthermore, the Monday midday meeting with the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis has been cancelled. It appears that the doctors cancelled the meeting after a preliminary meeting to negotiate failed to yield any agreement.

The other EOPYY employees have also announced a 48-hour strike for Tuesday and Wednesday and will participate in the demonstration outside the Ministry of Health at 11am on Tuesday.

The nationwide medical association PIS has expressed its support of the EOPYY strikes, noting that the suspensions and dismissals will result in degraded healthcare services and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis in Greece.
