In an effort to increase the revenue and curb the debts towards insurance funds, the Ministries of Finances and Labor are to transfer these powers to the tax administration.
The Minister of Labor Yannis Vroutsis commented on Thursday that the move will create a more efficient collection system while providing simpler, faster and friendlier procedures.
By the end of September a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the over plan will be submitted, followed by the creation of a central registry by the end of 2015. By the end of 2016 the contribution base of insurance funds will be streamlined, with the ambitious government plan expected to be fully implemented by July 2017.
