The economy may have entered a phase of stability, but in politics the tense conflicts continue to dominate and create a climate a polarizing climate ahead of the upcoming elections. The serious charges and personal attacks on a daily basis are clearly meant to galvanize support in the political camps.

This is particularly true for the opposition, which escalates the confrontation every day with personal attacks against the government majority. It is a given that the political parties have the right to be critical and point out the contradictions and retractions of their opponents. Personalizing the political confrontation, especially when accompanied by serious and extreme allegations, neither helps the promotion of different policies, which is supposed to be the goal, nor does it help the people decide what is best for them and the country.

Now that the country is struggling to regroup, it is absurd to charge the political climate and cultivate a climate of instability and inability to come to a basic understanding. It is also absurd as far as narrow partisan considerations go, since the polls show that a significant portion of the people, who will determine the outcome of the elections, are not convinced by the yelling, slogans and personal attacks.

The party leaders and members ought to understand that neither the people, nor the economy can endure a perpetual, polarizing and divisive conflict. A little self-restraint will do them and the country is in their interest and harmed no one.
