According to the Greek Statistics Authority ELSTAT, the rate of unemployment in Greece during December 2013 was 27.5%, compared to 26.3% in December 2012 and 27.6% in November 2013.

Overall, in December 2013 there were 3,555,034 people employed, 1,349,495 unemployed and a total of 3,388,927 not seeking employment (i.e. students, pensioners etc)

The divs indicate that there were 99,226 (-2.7%) less jobs compared to December 2012 and 5,418 (-0.2%) less jobs compared to November 2013. Consequently, the number of unemployed rose by 48,551 (3.7%) since December 2012, but dropped by 10,864 (-0.8%) since November 2013.

The number of people currently not seeking employment rose by 47,229 (1.4%) since December 2012 and by 4,453 (0.1%) since November 2013.
