The National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce (ESEE) has requested that the Ministry of Labor consider an across-the-board reduction of insurance contributions towards self-employed fund OAEE.

According to the letter sent by ESEE President Vasilis Korkidis [pictured] many self-employed are unable to pay the current rates and noted that aside from affecting the day-to-day dealings of the self-employed, the reduction of contribution is also a matter of principle and justice.

Mr. Korkidis stresses that the reduction of insurance contribution must have a retroactive effect for all debtors and points out that such a decision would see a spectacular increase of OAEE’s annual revenue. This development, in turn, will provide further assurances to pensioners about the fund.
