The troika representatives arranged to meet with the Minister of Labor Yannis Vroutsis at 10am on Monday in order to discuss a series of troika-mandated reforms.

At the top of the troika’s agenda is the legislation regarding unions and the requirements for calling and implementing a strike. The opposition parties and government partner PASOK have reacted to the possibility of any changes in these areas.

According to a Commission report, the Greek government must ensure the right to work, promoting constructive relations between partners and void any unnecessary disruptions to the operation of businesses, while ensuring that the unions comply with international practices.

Also discussed at the meeting was the restructure of the unions, in order to increase their representation and to reevaluate the funding procedures for unions.
