The retired Olympic weight-lifting champion and PASOK MP Pyrros Dimas made a post on his personal facebook account regarding his stance in Parliament on Wednesday in relation to Golden Dawn provocations.

During the turbulent hearing in Parliament regarding the immunity lift of Michaloliakos, Pappas and Lagos, Golden Dawn MP Nikos Michos attempted to physically assault the independent MP Petros Tatsopoulos, but was turned away when Pyrros Dimas took notice and intervened.

Mr. Dimas states that he is “not afraid of anyone and any threat. That is why I am in Parliament, so that no Greek is afraid. I grew up in a regime where fear was systematically cultivated. From a young age I learned to face it and not hide away. As for the mud slung by Golden Dawn […] for me it is a badge of honor. Democracy is not subjective and patriotism cannot be weighed”.
