According the Center for Disease Control and Prevention seven people died over the weekend due to the ‘flu, raising the number of victims from the latest outbreak to 39. A further 59 people who contracted the virus are being treated at intensive care units, while a further three were admitted to ICUs with the symptoms.

Press representatives of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced that the vast majority of the victims had not been inoculated for the influenza virus, despite belonging to a high risk group (elderly, chronically ill, obese, etc).

Scientific staff members from the Center have recommended that everyone in a high risk group should be inoculated against the deadly virus and to seek out anti-viral treatment as soon as the first symptoms become clear.
