The leader of ANEL Panos Kammenos commented that there is “no possibility” of a post-election coalition with any of the parties supporting troika-mandated austerity politics, at a press conference for the International Fair in Thessaloniki.

When asked if he had to chose between Samaras and Tsipras, Mr. Kammenos refused to answer, stating that “it is like asking me to marry one of the two next week against my will”. Mr. Kammenos asserted that New Democracy and PASOK will not be around after the next elections and appeared certain that the outcome of the elections will encourage the coalition of parties and MPs.

The ANEL leader accused Prime Minister Samaras and government Vice President Venizelos of lying at the International Fair. He also scrutinized Opposition leader Alexis Tsipras of changing his stance from abolishing the bailout, to renegotiating.

Mr. Kammenos suggested removing the VAT from essential items, imposing a 1% tax on parental benefits, reducing taxation below 8% in order to compete with neighboring countries and establishing the price of heating oil to 1 euro per liter.
