The Index of Wages Cost for the 2nd quarter 2022, adjusted for the number of working days but not seasonally adjusted, recorded an increase of 0.7%

In the period January-November 2021 the increase was 23%

The “champion” in increases was again the price of natural gas, which jumped by 135.7%, followed by electricity with 45% and the price of heating oil, recording an increase of 34.1%

The General Consumer Price Index moved upwards in October 2021, compared to September 2021, showed an increase of 1.5% compared to an increase of 0.3% recorded in the corresponding comparison of the previous year

Based on the revised data, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the year 2020 in terms of volume showed a decrease of 9% compared to 2019, compared to a decrease of 8.2% that was announced in the first estimate of ELSTAT in March 2021

The unemployed amounted to 655,644 people, recording a decrease of 128,293 people compared to August 2020 (-16.4%) and 1,035 people compared to July 2021 (-0.2%)

The number of employed persons reacged 3,915,253, people showing an increase of 8.0%, compared to the previous quarter and 1.9%, compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year

A large increase in consumption and investment boosts a strong increase in GDP by 16.2% in the second quarter compared to 2020, following in the footsteps of the rest of the eurozone economies.

What data show

For the budget, revenues in the first quarter reached 16.2 billion euros while expenditures amounted to 23.3 billion euros

Total final consumption expenditure decreased by 0.6% compared to the 4th quarter of 2020

For all businesses and activities of the economy, the turnover in the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 63.56 billion euros, recording a decrease of 5.4% compared to the first quarter of 2020 (67.158 billion euros)
