PASOK’s tenth conference, which is scheduled to begin at noon on Friday and will conclude on Sunday, will determine the opposition party’s political perspective, with prominent party officers expected to announce their candidacy for the position of president.

The outgoing president Evangelos Venizelos has rescheduled his speech for noon on Saturday, due to the conflict with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ appearance in Parliament to discuss the progress of negotiations.

According to the party rules, the conference will decide on how the new president will be elected on the 14th of June. So far Fofi Gennimata, Andreas Loverdos and Odysseas Konstantinopoulos have formally announced their candidacy, with more party officers expected to announce their intention to run for president at the conference itself.
