The River concluded its inauguration convention on Sunday afternoon, with the election of Stavros Theodorakis as “head” of the party, as well as the presentation of candidates for the party’s 70-member nationwide committee.

During the two-day event, the convention participants approved the party’s statute, according to which party officers are referred to as “volunteers” and the president as “head”.

According to the statue, the party’s founding principles include democracy, freedom, justice, meritocracy, growth, renewing the political personnel and being in touch with the people. Furthermore, no volunteer (or the head, for that matter) can maintain the same position for more than 8 years.

About 150 conference participants took the stand, including Antonis Kafetzopoulos, Petros Tatsopoulos, Grigoris Psarianos and Spyros Danellis, while the Mayor of Athens Giorgos Kaminis saluted the party and its efforts.
