The nation meteorological service EMY has announced that the weather is expected to deteriorate with snowfall a distinct possibility for Wednesday. The temperature is set to drop by 6 to 8 degrees, with the second wave of bad weather expected to hit Greece on Friday.

The first wave of bad weather which plagued Greece last week caused floods all over the country and resulted in a number of drownings in Rhodes and Corinth.

While the weather on Monday will mostly be sunny and temperatures not expected to exceed 15 degrees during the day, it will begin to change on Tuesday, with rain and snow expected in most of Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, central Greece, Evia, east Peloponnesus, Crete and the islands in the south and east Aegean.

Mountainous and elevated regions in Greece will more than likely see snowfall throughout the week, whereas the rest of the country will experience alternating showers and bouts of sunshine. There will be a minor improvement of the weather over the weekend, however there will be extensive frost in the north and west of the country.
