TAIPED’s board of directors is to convene today at 14:00 in order to discuss completing the privatization of OPAP. The fund also approved of Emma Delta’s request for extending the offer submission deadline for today.

Emma Delta, which is interested in purchasing the 33% share of OPAP, initially made an offer of 622 million euros, which is significantly less than the 650 million euro minimum limit, which was determined by the Duff & Phelps evaluation and financial services agency. The investment firm asked for the extension in order to submit a better offer.

Emma Delta is a partnership of Czech investor Jiri Smejc and ship-owner Dimitris Melissanidis. Despite the government’s expectations, Emma Delta is the sole potential investor of OPAP.
