The farmers have decided to cut off access to the national highways, airports, customs offices and ports for 24 hours, starting at noon on Saturday, following a meeting in Katerini.

Representatives from 62 road blocks attended the meeting, which lasted about six hours. During the meeting the farmers reiterated their demand for the government to withdraw its pension reform and taxation plans before any discussion can take place. They also called for the political leaders to take a clear stance on the matter.

For Thursday, the farmers decided to allow all traffic to go through, in order to help all those who wish to attend the major demonstrations and rallies planned for the general strike.
