Twenty years since the passing of Andreas Papanadreou

Three major events have been scheduled in memory of Andreas Papandreou, on occasion of the 20 years since his passing in 1996.

The first of these events was organized by PASOK, the party Papandreou founded after the restoration of democracy, which took place at the Institute of Strategic and Development Studies (ISTAME). Many former party members, politicians and journalists, among others, attended the event.

A second, similar even will be held on Thursday evening by the Movement of Democrats Socialists, the party established by Giorgos Papandreou at the Papandreou Institute in Athens.

Finally, the Hellenic Parliament has also scheduled to open a special exhibition on Andreas Papandreou on Thursday, which details the personal and political life of the former Prime Minister.
