Eight refugees – including six children – drowned early on Thursday morning of the western coast of Turkey, on their way to the island of Lesvos.
According to Turkish news agency Dogan the boat that was carrying the refugees across the Aegean was overloaded.
Furthermore, the Dogan report notes that the boat set off from Bademli and was overturned due to the adverse weather conditions in the area.
